About this blog

Welcome to my Health and Medicine blog-page. I am a physician, researcher, and a philatelist. My current philately focus is thematic, with an intention to explore history of medical sciences.

Postage stamps were initially issued to collect tax revenues. Over the years they became a means to raise money for charity. Today we design postage stamps to commemorate people, buildings, events, cultures, and also to educate. Postal material also included cancellations, first day covers, special covers, miniature sheets, souvenir sheets, and even stationary. In they past these were also a means to disseminate slogans.

Today with dwindling use of postal stamps, they do not automatically reach our homes. Diligent collectors have preserved many stamps from posterity.

My endeavour is to give you curated and authentic information pertaining to health and medicine. Postal stamps are from my own collection. As I obtain more stamps on a theme, I continue to update my blogs.

I started this blog on 1st July 2022. I reflect my triple passion for medicine, medical history, and postal stamps in this blog. Hope you will enjoy this share.
